To connect schematic lines to components

1. In the P&ID tool palette, click the Lines tab. Click a line.
2. In the drawing area, move the cursor near the outside of the component where you want the line to connect. When an attachment point is displayed, click to connect the line and component.
3. To create more line segments, continue clicking in the drawing area.
4. Do one of the following:
   • Press ENTER to end the schematic line.
   • Move the cursor to another component’s edge, and click when the attachment points are displayed.
   Note:

   If you move the schematic line, the component you added to it moves with the line.

   You can, if you prefer, add the line to the drawing first and then connect the component. You would then find the end of the schematic line where an attachment point is displayed, and if prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to place the component.
