To Create a Taper/Slope Symbol, Manually Specifying the Slope (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

  1. Click Annotate tabSymbol panelTaper and Slope. Find
  2. Press ENTER.
  3. In the drawing area, select the object that the symbol must attach to. If you do not want to attach the symbol to an object, click in a vacant space in the drawing area.
    Note:

    If you click in a vacant space, AutoCAD Mechanical toolset uses that position as the start point of the leader.

  4. In the drawing area, click to specify the vertices of the leader and press ENTER.

    To place the symbol without a leader, press ENTER first and then click in the drawing area to specify the orientation of the symbol.

  5. In the Dimension box, specify the slope/taper rate.
    Tip:
    • To locate the Dimension text box, move the pointer over the boxes in the dialog box and inspect the tooltips.
    • To insert a special character in the dimension text, place the cursor at the position you want to insert the character. From the Insert symbol list, click the character.
  6. Click OK.
