To display the grid in the CAD View or Section View, select the View tab > View Options panel > Grid Mode button. The grid is displayed in orthogonal views. To hide the measured points, deselect the button.
To choose the grid type, click Grid Mode and select:
- Part Coordinates to base the grid on the coordinate system of the CAD model.
- Datum Coordinates to base the grid on the coordinate system of a datum in the inspection sequence. Select the datum you want to use from the
Datum Coordinates dialog.
- Machine Coordinates to base the grid on the coordinate system of the measuring device. The origin is at the zero position of the measuring device.
Note: In inspections for OMV machines, the grid is based on the coordinates of the simulated measuring device. In
dual-column mode, the grid is based on the zero position of the selected column in the
Machine tab.
- Common Machine Coordinates to base the grid on the
common machine coordinate system of a dual-column measuring device.
- Probe Tool Coordinates to base the grid on the machine coordinate system. The origin is at the current probe tool offset.
- World Coordinates to base the grid on the alignment of the CAD model. This option is used to help design simulated measuring devices.
- Local Quill Coordinates to base the grid on the local coordinate system of the quill. The origin is the quill mounting point.
- Local Probe Coordinates to base the grid on the local coordinate system of the probe. The origin is the probe centre.
- Local Probe Tool Coordinates to base the grid on the local coordinate system of the probe tool. The origin is the probe tool tip.
- Local Probe Orientation PCS to base the grid on the major axes of the probe tool with the origin at the PCS (CAD Datum).
- Local Probe Orientation WCS to base the grid on the major axes of the probe tool with the origin at the Machine Datum.
Note: Some grid types are not available when using a manual measuring device..
