The Device Reposition Wizard enables you use one coordinate system to inspect a part that is larger than the measurement envelope of your measuring device.
Note: Device Repositioning is available only when creating inspections for CNC and Manual machines.
To measure a part by device repositioning:
- Position the part and measure the items within the measurement envelope.
- Open the
Co-ordinates and click the
Reposition
button. The
Device Reposition Wizard is displayed.
- Follow the steps in pages 1 to 4 of the wizard to create and probe three or more mapping items. All the items must be measurable before and after the part is moved.
- Move the part or measuring device.
- In the wizard, follow the remaining steps to remeasure the mapping items.
- Continue measuring the part.
When you have completed the measurements in the new position, you can create more positions, return the part or measuring device to its original location, or edit and delete the positions you created.
