Edit Room Subarea Reductions

Learn how to edit the properties of Areabook room data by subarea and edges.

  1. Click Quantification tab Areabook Extension panel (Edit Room).
  2. In the drawing area, select a room.
  3. In the Edit/View Room Properties dialog, under Reduction, select Fixed by Subareas.
  4. Select the Sub Areas tab to view the known subareas of the room.
  5. Click to manually select any subareas that do not show in the subarea list. When complete, click Finish on the Options Bar.
  6. Adjust the subarea information in the Subareas section. Find descriptions in the table below.
  7. (Optional) To view a subarea in the drawing area, select the subarea row and click (Highlight)
  8. (Optional) Click (Delete Row(s))to delete manually selected subarea rows from the calculation or use the Ignore selection.
  9. Click OK to accept changes or Cancel to close the dialog without making changes.
Column Descrption
Name The name of the subareas in the selected room.
+/- Specifies if the subarea is subtracted from or added to the main area. Subareas are subtracted from the main area by default.
Factor % Specifies the calculation factor percentage of the main area allocated for the subarea.
Fixed Active when the Reduction type parameter for the room is specified as Fixed By Subareas. Click to adjust sub area reductions. In the Fixed Reduction dialog, specify Global reductions or reductions by individual sides of the room.
Height (DIN-Standard Only) You can specify main areas and subareas separately that they have a height less than, greater than, or equal to 1.50 m. Either <=1500.00 or >1500.00.
Living Area Displays the calculated living area.
Net Room Area Displays the calculated net room area.
Unfinished Displays the calculated unfinished area.
Ignore

Select for automatically detected subareas that are not to be considered for the calculation.

Automatic subareas can only be removed from the table by changing the calculation settings and calculating again.

Type Specifies if the subarea was automatically detected or manually selected. Either Automatic or Manual.
