Room Assignment Type by Project Standard Reference

Understand the room assignment types available when working with different project standards.

The project standard defines all room names and corresponding area assignments with the room assignment type family. The information in the room assignment type is reported to rooms specified with the same type. Imagine a hospital project with hundreds of identical rooms. Room assignment types allow you to define the area assignment for a room name once and with a click, you have correctly defined the area assignment for all rooms.

• The project standard defines what room assignment type family to use in the project.
• The room assignment type family defines the standard properties for room types in the project.
• Rooms of the same type share the same properties defined in the room assignment type family.

By default, Areabook contains a comprehensive list of predefined area assignments which are loaded in each project. You can edit and change the assignments or add new room names and assignments.

Room assignments by International Standard are defining the room name. For example:

Room assignments by International Standard are defining the room name. For example:

Room assignments by the DIN Standard are defining the room name according to DIN 277. For example (in German):

The global assignment can be changed later when editing the rooms.

Note: When room names have no equivalence in the room assignment family, those rooms get their type assigned as not defined.
