  3. Navigate to the room assignment type Revit family RFA file.
  4. Select the file and click Open.
  5. The new definitions are imported in the current family file.

Import Legacy Room Assignment Type TXT Files

In Areabook, the mechanism of room assignments works with family files. In earlier versions, TXT files were used to store the assignment data. For instance, DACH Extensions for the German speaking markets were handled with the external text file DACH_Flaechenzuordnung.txt. Because the DACH Extensions for Autodesk Revit were only designed for the German speaking market, this only applies using the DIN 277 project standard.

Note: TXT files were designed for the older DIN 277 standard 2005. You cannot use these files in the new DIN 277 standard 2016 because of its updated data. Use the DIN 277 project standard for 2005 in your project.
  1. Click Quantification tab Areabook Extension panel (Edit Room Assignment Type).
  2. In the Edit Room Assignment Type dialog, click (Import type from txt).
  3. Navigate to the text file (for example, DACH_Flaechenzuordnung.txt).
  4. Select the file and click Open.

The definitions are imported in the current family file. If duplicate room names exist in the current family, a warning displays in which you can overwrite, rename, or retain the existing families.

The area and room assignments of Areabook are identical to the definitions in the legacy version. If no customizations were made to the file, there is no need to import a TXT file.
