Contour milling strategy

The Contour toolpath can be used for semi finishing and finishing. It creates 2D planar cuts around the model. Also known as a "waterline" cut.

This Strategy creates XY profiles around a projected waterline, at multiple Z heights. It is most effective when machining steep areas and walls that are near vertical.

The Minimum Diameter and Minimum Cutting Radius parameters can be used to avoid binding of the tool in tight corners. The Maximum Stepdown parameter controls the steps in Z. Lead & Transition parameters control the blending of the toolpath between Z level cuts.

You can use Machining Boundaries to contain the machining area in X & Y and the Heights parameters to contain the machining areas in Z.
