Post process a manufacturing operation

  1. Ensure that you have an active setup, and all its operations are generated.

  2. On the Manufacture workspace toolbar, click Actions > Post Process post process icon.

    The NC Program dialog opens.

  3. In the Settings tab, in the Post list, choose a post processor.

Note: If the post processor you are selecting or changing contains operation properties, a dialog opens summarizing which properties are added to which operations. Confirm the change to proceed.
  4. Enter a File Name for the NC file that will contain the post-processed NC code.

  5. Select an Output Folder for the NC file.

  6. In the Post Properties group, review the list of properties and update their values as needed. The properties are specific to the chosen post processor.

  7. By default, all the operations in the active setup are included in the NC program. If you want to exclude certain operations, in the Operations tab, deselect the checkboxes next to the setups or individual operations.

  8. Optional steps:

    • To ensure the NC file opens as soon as the post processing completes, in the Settings tab, select the Open NC File in Editor checkbox.

    • To ensure an NC program gets added to the Browser, in the Settings tab, select the Create in Browser checkbox.

    • If you have multiple operations and want to group those that use the same tool, in the Operations tab, select the Reorder to Minimize Tool Changes checkbox.

  9. Click Post.
