After you have imported the machine-generated results file, post process the remaining operations in the setup using the calculated part alignment.

  1. In the Part Alignment contextual environment, click Post with Alignment post with alignment icon.

    The NC Program dialog opens.

  2. In the Operations tab, confirm that the operations you want to post process are selected.

By default, all the operations in the setup, except the Inspect Surface operations used to calculate the part alignment, are selected. For example:

    operations tab

Note: If you want to include an Inspect Surface operation for a final validation after machining, the Inspect Surface operation must be placed after the machining operations in the setup.
  3. (Optional) If you have multiple manufacturing operations and you want to group those that use the same tool or probe, select the Reorder to Minimize Tool Changes checkbox.

  4. Complete the Settings tab, selecting an appropriate post processor.

Note: The parameters displayed depend on the selected post processor.
  5. Click Post.

The Part Alignment contextual environment closes, and an NC Program node is added to the Browser. A message is displayed when the file has been created.

Now transfer the updated NC code that is using the calculated part alignment to the machine controller, and then run it on the CNC machine. The work coordinate system (WCS) on the machine controller is adjusted so that the part can be machined accurately.

Warning: All manufacturing operations require a supporting post processor to send instructions to a CNC machine. Post processors to support new capabilities are constantly under development and will be made available for download from the Post Library when ready. To get help with editing a post processor, visit the HSM Post Processor Forum, or contact a reseller on the Services Marketplace to ask about customizations.
