Activity 2: Replace components

In this activity, you quickly and accurately replace components in the Schematic design in one batch operation. This allows you to update components with the correct values or types.

Prerequisites

• Activity 1 is complete.

Steps

1. Select a few capacitors that will be replaced.

   1.In the Design Manager panel, on the Browser tab, in Project Documents group, click Sheet 3/4.

   1. In the View drop-down list, select Components.
   2. In the Components Search box enter R2.
   3. Then, in the components list Shift-select the four resistors Components R208 to R211. They are highlighted on the canvas.

2. In the Inspector panel, under Selected Objects group, use horizontal scroll to verify Component Name 0603MP (RC-MASTER-SMD_R) and Library Name SmartMeter for the resistors.

   Note: If you select a single resistor you can see same data in Properties of Part group in the Inspector panel.

3. Click Design > Modify > Replace while four resistors are selected.

4. In the Replace dialog, expand LinkedLibrary52101 and select RESISTOR-POWER_RAC03, then click OK.

   Note: If LinkedLibrary52101 is not listed, click Open Library Manager in Replace dialog and enable it. Press Esc to get back to Replace dialog.

5. Click in the Selected Objects group free space, deselecting the four objects, and verify that the four 0603MP (RC-MASTER-SMD_R_) components have been replaced with AC03 (RESISTOR-POWER_R).
