Work with Project Baselines

Baselines allow you to take snapshots of your projects that reflect status at critical points in the life of a project such as start, delays, budget overrun, loss of resources. Each project baseline can be compared against current values using Start and End Dates and Duration.

Create a Project Baseline

1. Click the Project Management tab.

2. Place the cursor over Baseline and click Create.

3. In the Create Baseline window, enter a Name for the baseline. You can also enter a Description.

4. Click Save.

   The Available Baselines window shows the baselines created for the project.

5. Click the new baseline to view it.

View a Baseline and Compare to Current Values

1. Click the Project Management tab.

2. Place the cursor over Baseline and click View.

   Tip:

   If the baseline appears under Recent Baselines, click its name.

3. In the Available Baselines window, click the baseline's name.

Delete a Baseline

1. Click the Project Management tab.
2. Place the cursor over Baseline and click View.
3. In the Available Baselines window, select the baseline to delete.
4. Click Delete.
5. When prompted to confirm removing the baseline, click OK.
