About Cross Platform Features

Cross platform features provide functionality in AutoCAD desktop, the AutoCAD web app, and the AutoCAD mobile app.

Trace

Trace provides a safe space to provide feedback to a drawing without altering the existing drawing. The analogy is of a virtual collaborative tracing paper that is laid over the drawing that allows collaborators to add markups and comments on the drawing. Create traces in the AutoCAD web app, the AutoCAD mobile app, or AutoCAD desktop (Windows or Mac), then send or share the drawing to collaborators so they can view the trace and its contents.

Markup Import and Markup Assist

Markup Import and Markup Assist use machine learning to identify markups and provide a way to view and insert drawing revisions with less manual effort. Markups can be imported as a PDF, JPG, or PNG and are overlaid on top of your drawing in the Trace environment. Markups in the imported file are automatically identified as mtext, mleaders, and revision clouds. Markup Assist lets you insert those identified markups into the drawing as geometry.

Note: Markup Import and Markup Assist are not available for AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD LT for Mac.

Open in Desktop

If you're working in the AutoCAD web app and your computer has AutoCAD 2018 or later installed, you can use the Open in Desktop button to open a drawing in desktop AutoCAD. Your drawing is automatically saved and then opened in your locally installed version of AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT desktop.

Share Drawing

Share a link to a copy of the current drawing to view or edit in the AutoCAD web app. All related DWG xrefs and images are included.

Sheet Set Manager for Web

Manage sheet sets from Autodesk Docs with Sheet Set Manager for Web. A lightweight version of the legacy Sheet Set Manager, the Sheet Set Manager for Web, displays and manages named collections of drawing sheets stored in Autodesk Docs. Opening a DST file from Autodesk Docs displays the Sheet Set Manager for Web by default.
