Change a User's Role on the Hub

Team Administrators can change a user's role in the following ways:
  • Project Contributor to a Team Member
  • Team member to a Team Administrator or Project Contributor
  • Team Administrator to Team Member

When would I change a user's hub role?

You might want to user's role from Project Contributor to Team Administrator in the following scenarios. You want to allow that user to:
  • Create projects
  • Access Open projects
  • Assign a Project Admin role to that user
You might want to change a user's role from Team Member to Project Contributor, if a user is:
  • Leaving the organization but will continue to be part of the project
You will want to assign a Team Administrator role to a Team Member, if you need:
  • An additional Team Administrator for your hub
  • The current and only Team Administrator is leaving the organization

What happens when I change a user's role from a Team Member to Project Contributor?

The user will no longer be able to create projects and will not be able to view or access Open projects.

What happens when I change a user's role from Project Contributor to Team Member?

The user can create projects, access Open projects, and can be assigned a Project Admin or Team Admin role.

Change a User's Status on the Hub

Team Administrators can deactivate and activate users on the hub.

To change a user's role status on the hub, click the name of the user > Deactivate or Activate.

What happens when I deactivate a user?

The user will no longer be able to sign in to the hub.

What happens when I activate a user?

The user will be restored to his role prior to deactivation. He can continue to access projects as before.
