Modifying Model Settings
You can adjust rendering settings in Grading Optimization to improve either performance or quality during the optimization process. To adjust how the TIN surface is optimized in the grading process, click Model Settings on the Optimization Toolbar.
In the Preferences dialog, enable Refine Surface to access the rendering options. When disabled, Grading Optimization works to achieve balance in rendering performance and quality. Each project requires different results, so these settings should be considered based on these needs.
There are three adjustments that can affect the vector triangulation of the surface optimization.
Mesh Quality
Mesh Quality specifies an overall goal for the surface optimization.
- Low emphasizes performance. This is recommended for testing current grading object configurations.
- Medium prioritizes a balance of performance and surface quality.
- High emphasizes surface optimization quality. This will likely take longer to optimize.
Remove EG Points
Remove the Existing Ground triangles imported from the drawing and retriangulates the surface before optimization.
Customize Max Triangle Size
Specify a size constraint for the surface triangle legs. Enter a length in Max Triangle Size. This adjustment provides a more finite quality surface that can impact performance.
