Save Optimization Result Dialog
Use the Save Optimization Result Dialog to send the optimized surface and grading element geometry back to the source drawing. There are specific options to choose from for each element type.
Surface
When the toggle to the right of this selection is on, the optimized surface will be sent to the original drawing. When it is off, the optimized surface is not sent.
The number represents how many surfaces are to be sent.
Create New Surface
When selected, the optimized surface will be sent back to the source drawing as a new surface.
Name
Specifies the name of the new surface.
Style
Specifies the surface style as the new surface is to be displayed in the drawing. Click to search, view, and select from the available styles determined by the source drawing.
Update an Existing Surface
When selected, the optimized surface will overwrite a previously created surface in the source drawing.
Name
Specifies the name of the overwritten surface. The available names are determined by previously created surfaces in the source drawing.
Feature Lines
When the toggle to the right of this selection is on, feature lines created from the optimization will be sent to the original drawing. When it is off, the feature lines are not sent.
The number represents how many feature lines are to be sent.
Feature Line Style
Specifies the feature line style to be displayed in the source drawing. Click to search, view, and select from the available styles determined by the source drawing.
Data Return Options
This section defines how feature lines are returned back to the source drawing.
Create New Feature Lines
When selected, all feature lines created through optimization will be sent back to the source drawing as feature lines with a specified naming prefix. This makes sorting and selecting feature lines created by Grading Optimization. Enter a unique prefix in the Name prefix field.
Update Existing Feature Lines
When selected, previously feature lines created through Grading Optimization will be updated based on their selected prefix. Select the feature line prefixes that should be updated with the new optimization.
Weeding Options
Specifies the thresholds to reduce the number of vertices on a feature line. Vertices are weeded if found to be unnecessary based on weeding factors of grade and length.
Grade
Specifies the grade threshold for feature line weeding. Vertices that have a difference in grade less than the grade factor entered are deleted.
Length
Specifies the distance threshold for feature line weeding. Vertices that are closer than the length factor entered to their two neighboring vertices are deleted.
Points
When the toggle to the right of this selection is on, points created from the optimization will be sent to the original drawing. When it is off, the points are not sent.
The number represents how many points are to be sent.
Save Optimized Points to Point Group
When enabled, points will be sent to a new or existing point group in the source drawing.
Create New Point Group
When selected, all points created through optimization will be sent back to the source drawing in a new point group.
Name
Specifies the name of the newly created point group.
Update an Existing Point Group
When selected, the point group will overwrite a previously created point group in the source drawing.
Name
Specifies the name of the point group to be overwritten. The available names are determined by previously created point groups in the source drawing.
Point Style
Specifies the point style to be displayed in the source drawing. Click to search, view, and select from the available styles determined by the source drawing.
