About Using Visibility Check Tools on Corridors

You can use the following visibility check features to visually analyze corridor models.

  • Drive - Use this tool to simulate driving through a 3D model by following a corridor, alignment, feature line, or 3D polyline.
  • Point to Point Line of Sight - Use this tool to perform a local sight distance check, for example, at a high risk location in an intersection.
  • Sight Distance Along a Corridor - Use this tool to calculate sight distances along a roadway, and to ensure that the design meets the required minimum sight distances.
  • Zone of Visual Influence - Use this tool when you need to determine if a vertical object, such as a traffic light or a tower, can be seen from within a certain radius. You can also use this tool to determine how far a driver can see from a stop line at an intersection.
