Bridge Team Automations in Design Collaboration
Team automations in Bridge are used to automatically send and receive packages between projects for specified teams.
Creating a team automation uses the common folder structure in projects using Design Collaboration, and creates a copy of the selected team's folder in the shared folder of the bridged project.
Whenever that team shares a package, a copy of the contents is automatically created in the corresponding team folder in the shared folder of the bridged project. The team and its packages also show up in the External section of the Project timeline in the bridged project.
Set up team automations
Make sure that your project is bridged with the target project.
Open the Settings tool > Team Setup tab:
In the Bridge team automations column, click in the row of the corresponding team you want to create the automation for.
In the Select projects dialog, choose the bridged projects that you want to set up the automation with. The dialog displays the account and project names to help you identify the correct project:
Click Next.
On the Save settings dialog, check that the details are correct and then click Save.
The Settings tool > Team Setup tab will now show the number of projects the team has automations set up with in the Bridge team automations column.
Whenever the team shares a package, a copy of the contents is automatically created in the corresponding team folder in the shared folder of the bridged project.
Pause or resume team automations
In order to maintain control over the data being shared from your project, you can pause and resume team automations:
Open the Settings tool > Team Setup tab.
In the Bridge team automations column, click in the row of the corresponding team you want to pause or resume automations for.
In the Select projects dialog, deselect the bridged projects that you want to pause automations for. You can also select projects you want to start or resume automations with at the same time.
Click Next.
On the Save settings dialog, check that the details are correct:
Click Save.
In addition, you can also pause and resume both outgoing and incoming team automations using the Bridge tool:
- Open the Bridge tool and navigate to the Outgoing or Incoming tab as needed.
- Click the menu to the right of the Delete bridge button or Team automations section to access the options to Resume all (team) automations or Pause all (team) automations.
- To pause or resume individual or a selection of automations, click the link showing the number of active or paused automations. This opens a page that displays all of the automations for the project, and whether they are incoming or outgoing.
- Use the Active Automations tab to pause or delete active automations, or the Paused Automations tab to resume or delete paused automations. You can also see requests from other projects to resume paused automations.
Deactivating teams with automations
Deactivating a team hides it from the Project timeline, and pauses any team automations associated with it. If other internal teams (from the current project) have consumed packages from this team, those packages are still accessible from the Teams panel in the Project Model. In bridged projects, any packages shared by these teams before deactivation will still be available on the Project timeline.
To deactivate a team:
- Open the Settings tool > Team setup tab.
- Select the checkboxes of the teams to be deactivated.
- Click Deactivate teams.
- Click Deactivate to confirm.
