Use this option to import all the toolpaths programmed in a PowerMill project into PartMaker using the Import PowerMill Project File dialog.
Each toolpath in the PowerMill project is imported into a PartMaker 5-Axis Face window. If the workplane of an imported toolpath coincides with an existing 5-Axis PartMaker Face window, it is imported into that Face window, otherwise a new 5-Axis Face window is created, with 5-Axis Face window parameters being set using the workplane of the PowerMill toolpath. The toolpath is then imported into the Face window as an imported group.
Note the following constraints:
- In PartMaker/Mill, only the Rotary 5 Axis and Vertical Rotary tables are available on the Table Settings dialog after you have imported a PowerMill project.
- If a PowerMill project file is imported into a PartMaker .job file that already contains imported work groups, then these existing groups will be deleted.
- PartMaker does not support Vortex toolpaths created in PowerMill. If you import a PowerMill project that contains Vortex toolpaths into PartMaker, the Vortex toolpaths may not be processed correctly.
- The post processor must be configured for post processing an Imported PowerMill Project toolpath. Refer to the "Special Functions Support" section of the Post Processor Reference Guide to see if this option is configured.
