Create asset group sets to group together assets with shared characteristics and use these groups in deterioration modelling.
When creating an asset group set, you will select the grouping criteria (e.g., different asset attributes). You can create several different sets of asset groups, each with their own criteria and, as a result, different asset groups.
Note: If you plan to use these groups with industry standard curves in a deterioration model, see
Industry Standard Curves for the available curves and make sure to align your groups with these.
Process overview
Setup: Choose between automatic and custom.
- Automatic setup: Groups are set up automatically based on the asset attributes you select: material, diameter, and/or year laid (installation date). Once your groups are set up, you can choose to further refine them by manually adding more queries (with other attributes or data types).

- Custom setup: Groups can be based on other attributes or data types, such as condition, custom tables, etc. You need to set these groups up manually using queries.

Use
You can use asset group sets in analyses, such as deterioration models, where you will be able to select the set you want to use in the model.
