Stress Analysis tab reference
On the ribbon, the Stress Analysis tab contains a series of named panels, each with one or more commands that are grouped by functionality.
Manage panel
| | Create Simulation | Displays the Create New Simulation dialog box, where you define the new simulation. |
| | Parametric Table | Displays the Parametric table dialog box, where you define the table parameters. |
Material panel
| | Assign | Displays the Assign Materials dialog box, where you define the materials to override the original material definition. |
Constraints panel
| | Fixed | Displays the Fixed Constraint dialog box, where you select geometry and further define the constraint. Fixed constraint allows access to vector components. |
| | Pin | Displays the Pin Constraint dialog box, where you select geometry and define the constraint. You can fix the geometry in radial, axial, or tangential directions. |
| | Frictionless | Displays the Frictionless Constraint dialog box, where you select geometry and specify a name for the constraint. |
Loads panel
| | Force | Displays the Force dialog box, where you specify a force. |
| | Pressure | Displays the Pressure dialog box, where you specify a pressure. |
| | Bearing | Displays the Bearing Load dialog box, where you specify a bearing load. |
| | Moment | Displays the Moment dialog box, where you specify a moment. |
| | Body | Displays the Body Loads dialog box, where you specify body loads. |
| | Gravity | Displays the Gravity dialog box, where you specify gravity. |
| | Remote Force | Displays the Remote Force dialog box, where you specify a remote force. |
| | Automatic | Evaluates the proximity of components and assigns contact conditions within the specified tolerance. |
| | Manual | Displays the Manual Contact dialog box, where you define specific contact conditions. |
Prepare panel
| | Find Thin Bodies | Finds and highlights bodies that meet the shell features criteria. |
| | Midsurface | Inspects the selected bodies and automatically builds a surface based on the geometry. |
| | Offset | Creates a thin shell component from selected faces. |
Mesh panel
| | Mesh View | Overlays the mesh atop the current view. |
| | Mesh Settings | Displays a dialog box with the various mesh settings. Modify, and click OK. |
| | Local Mesh Control | Displays the Local Mesh Control dialog box, where you select the face where the local mesh is assigned and the mesh value. |
| | Convergence Settings | Displays the Convergence Settings dialog box where you define the convergence criteria. |
Solve panel
| | Simulate | Displays the Simulate dialog box containing brief simulation information, process warnings, and the progress bar. |
Result panel
| | Animate | Animates the results - stress, displacement, mode shapes, and so on. You can record a video of the animation. |
| | Probe | Activates the Probe command so you can inquire about the results at a specific point on the model. |
| | Convergence Plot | Displays the result convergence plot for the current simulation. |
Display panel
| | Same Scale | Maintains the same scale when viewing different results. The default setting is Off. |
| | Color Bar | Displays the Color Bar dialog box, where you define the location and gradation of the color bar. |
| | Smooth Shading | Displays the color transitions using smooth shading techniques. |
| | Contour Shading | Displays the color transitions in contours, providing a hard line contrast between colors. |
| | No Shading | Removes color shading. |
| | Minimum Result | When selected, displays a label and leader attached to the minimum result. |
| | Maximum Result | When selected, displays a label and leader attached to the maximum result. |
| | Boundary Conditions | Controls visibility of the load glyphs. Controls the visibility of the fixed constraint with vector components glyph. When selected, the applicable glyph displays. |
| | Probe Labels | Controls the visibility of the probe labels. When turned on, the labels are visible. |
| | Adjust Displacement Display | Enhances model deformation for visualization purposes. The setting is for the graphical display and does not affect the simulation values. |
Report panel
| | Report | Displays the Report dialog box, where you define the report content and then publish the report. |
Settings panel
| | Stress Analysis Settings | Displays the Stress Analysis Settings dialog box, where you specify the default parameters for new simulations. You can override these settings on a per simulation basis. |
