To Make tube and Pipe Secondary Occurrences Adaptive
In the reuse workflow, when a tube and pipe secondary occurrence must adapt to assembly changes and allow for normal edits, use the Make Adaptive command to transition it to an adaptive primary occurrence.
If you have previously added assembly constraints to position the secondary occurrence, they become suppressed once the Make Adaptive command is applied. You can check the Model browser and determine whether or not you want to remain or remove them.
Activate the parent tube and pipe environment for the secondary occurrence, for instance, to make a run secondary occurrence adaptive, you need activate the primary runs assembly.
In the Model browser, right-click the secondary occurrence and select Make Adaptive.
In the Make Adaptive dialog box, click in the New Name column and enter a new unique file name. Notice the visual color of the tube and pipe file row during editing until the file name check is satisfied:
Cyan: Indicates the active row you are currently editing.
White: Indicates the new file name is valid.
Yellow: Indicates the file name is duplicate with another conduit part in the File Name list.
Red: Indicates the file name is duplicate with an existing file in the parent location.
If you are making a secondary occurrence of primary runs assembly adaptive, do any of the following:
- Select or clear the Mark all runs adaptive check box.
- If the default file location is not satisfactory, enter or browse to the file location for the new primary runs assembly.
Click OK.
The secondary occurrence now becomes adaptive so normal tube and pipe environment is activated in place. You can check the new local files and Model browser. By default, they follow the standard tube and pipe file naming convention.
