The Switch window displays data from the most recent weather forecast and lists the switch options that have been used in the currently displayed run. The window is displayed on the right hand side of the Baseline Page.
To display the window:
- Click the Switch tab on the right hand side of the Baseline Page, or
- Select Switch from the Window menu, or
- Click the
Switch button (
) of the Window toolbar.
Calendar grid
The Calendar grid displays the relevant calendar data for the currently displayed simulation.
- Date - simulation date
- Type - one of Weekday, Weekend or Holiday
Hovering the mouse over the grid view will display a tooltip presenting further detailed information. For type keyword Holiday, extended information about the holiday, including the holiday period, name and description will be displayed in the tooltip.
Weather forecast grid
The Weather forecast grid displays data from the most recent weather forecast (dependent on the configured weather feed).
Hovering the mouse over the grid view will display a tooltip presenting further detailed information:
- Location - more detailed location information
- Minimum - minimum temperature followed by unit (C = Celsius, F = Fahrenheit)
- Maximum - maximum temperature followed by unit (C = Celsius, F - Fahrenheit)
- Conditions - forecast conditions followed by the weather code
An asterisk displayed next to the Date heading indicates that saved weather forecast data from the weather history cache has been used in the run. This may occur when there has been an error obtaining the most recent weather forecast (for example, the FTP server is unavailable). Hovering over the asterisk will display a tooltip containing details of the reason that a history forecast is being used.
The message 'Missing or incomplete weather feed configuration' will be displayed if current weather data cannot be retrieved and it is not available in history. In this case the run will use the baseline default simulation objects.
Script status grid
Displays the status of executing the switch script, therefore highlights the presence of error messages related to the weather.
The status can be one of the following:
- No script - there is no switch script.
- Setup error - an error occurred before the script could be executed.
- Failed - an error occurred during script execution (and the simulation used default switch objects).
- OK - the script ran successfully to completion.
If an asterisk is appended to one of the top three statuses, hover the mouse over the grid to obtain extended error information.
Switch Options Grid
The Switch Options grid in the lower part of the window lists all of the switch objects used in the currently displayed run.
For response runs, additional functionality is provided, allowing the user to select a different switch object to be used during the next simulation of the current response run. If a new switch object is selected by the user, its origin property is changed to Set by user. A switch object with a data origin of Set by user will not be changed or overridden by the switch configuration script.
