Release Notes in version 2024.5

This document lists product fixes which have been made in InfoWorks WS Pro 2024.5

See Known Issues for a list of limitations that we are aware of.

The fixes listed here are those that are viewed as likely to impact on users in an unexpected way, mainly changed simulation results, or differences in behaviour that might not be obvious.

InfoWorks WS Pro 2024.5.2

Reruns

When doing a rerun on checked-out networks with changes since the last run, no dialog appeared to ask if the recent changes should be used. This is fixed.

UPC Scenarios

Regulators could not be added to non-base scenarios. This is fixed.

Selection

If an object on the map was selected and the associated control object, the control object would remain selected after unselecting the object on the map. This is fixed.

Remote Agent

When a run was invoked on a remote device the engine job could hang, incorrectly waiting for an impersonation token. This is fixed.

Licensing for Remote Marshaller and Agent

If you are using a Remote Marshaller connection to run an engine, this will now use the remote Agent license configuration. This means, for example, that the WS Pro UI can use an Autodesk Single Sign On while a remote engine could use a Thales license. (This brings behavior in line with the more usual situation in which a Local Marshaller is used and the system invokes and engine on a remote Agent. In this situation it has always been the case that the remote Agent license settings are used for the engine.)

Scenarios

Scenario reintegration would fail if scenarios contained different types of objects with the same name. (An "Invalid pointer" message would appear.) This is fixed.

Scenario reintegration

Reintegrating a scenario into the base sometimes failed if there were identical customer points in other scenarios. This is fixed.

Vulnerabilities

The following vulnerabilities have been addressed within third party components:

CVE-2024-23138, CVE-2024-0853, CVE-2023-7104,CVE-2022-46908, CVE-2019-19924, CVE-2019-8602, CVE-2019-5827, CVE-2018-20506, CVE-2018-20346, CVE-2017-10989, CVE-2023-7104, CVE-2024-0232, CVE-2022-35737, CVE-2021-36690, CVE-2020-35525, CVE-2020-13871, CVE-2020-13632, CVE-2020-13631, CVE-2020-13630, CVE-2020-13435, CVE-2020-11656, BDSA-2020-0327, CVE-2020-9327, CVE-2019-19959, CVE-2019-20218, CVE-2019-19880, CVE-2019-19603, CVE-2019-19645, CVE-2019-19646, CVE-2019-19317, CVE-2019-19242, CVE-2019-19244, CVE-2019-8600, CVE-2019-8598, CVE-2019-8457, CVE-2019-5018, CVE-2018-20505, CVE-2018-8740, CVE-2024-0232, CVE-2017-2518, CVE-2017-2520, CVE-2017-2519, CVE-2017-13685, CVE-2023-52389, CVE-2023-7104, CVE-2024-0727, CVE-2023-6237, CVE-2023-6129, CVE-2024-0232, CVE-2023-5678, CVE-2023-52356, CVE-2024-29187, CVE-2024-29188

See the Autodesk Trust Center for details about vulnerabilities in InfoWorks software.

InfoWorks WS Pro 2024.5.1

WS Pro Exchange

The validate method on the run scheduler did not write any validation results to the validation output file. This is fixed.

PST Operation graph and Result selector

If the Result selector is set to "standard reduction" for normal or water quality runs, the PST Operation Graph will fail to display for a simulation. An error will be reported stating that POWER results are not available. "Standard reduction" is the default for cloud runs. This is fixed.

The workaround is to rerun with results selector set to full results.

Themes

If there was only a single value to theme, two bins would be created with the same value. This would result in an error message. This is fixed; only one bin is created now if there is only a single value.

InfoWorks WS Pro 2024.5

Network menu

The network menu did not always fit on the screen and this could lead to problems selecting an option. This is fixed: the network menu has been shortened.

Open Data Import Centre - crash in 32 bit InfoWorks WS Pro

Crashes have been experienced when selecting ArcGIS Geodatabase. This is solved by using InfoWorks WS Pro 2024.4 or later, or by installing ArcGIS 10.8.1.

Hybrid runs in WS Pro Exchange

Hybrid runs could sometimes fail when the results location was set to "server". This is fixed.

Reserved runs

When cloning a reserved run with local changes to the network or control, local changes to the network or control were committed before creating a copy. This is fixed.

Cloud Simulations

If you start a cloud simulation and, before it completes, you decide sign off, or log out, or close InfoWorks WS Pro. When you restart InfoWorks WS Pro, the simulation might not complete and the Job Progress window may contain "frozen" tasks. This is fixed.

Reserved Runs (cloud database)

If a Run, or Network, or Control is reserved by one user, a different user can unreserve the object from the advanced menu. This may be necessary if the first user is absent, but a warning should be issued. This is fixed: a warning message is issued if you attempt to unreserve an object that has been reserved by another user.

WS Agent Setting

If the WS Agent is set to be a Coordinating Agent, with "run on any", but the Agent is alone in its group, then simulation tasks might fail to start. This is fixed.

Leakage Locator

Leakage locator failed to produce a result for nodes with names of two characters or less. Workaround - rename the node This is fixed.

Cloud databases and scenarios

In a cloud database, if you create a node called A in one scenario, then delete it, and then create a node with the same name in a second scenario, you can get duplicate names. This is fixed. The problem affected cloud databases only.

Network Menu

The Network Menu was very long and would extend form top to bottom of the screen, sometimes causing overlap of items. This is fixed. The Network menu has been restructured. Many options have been placed into submenus, improving the experience.

Vulnerabilities

The following vulnerability has been addressed within third party components:

CVE-2023-38545
