This section lists all the known issues and workarounds in this and the previous two versions of Live.

Known Issues and Workarounds for Live 2.1
Feature Description
Laptop GPUs Laptops with Dual NVidia GPUs must force the High-Performance settings in the NVidia control panel in order for Live to take advantage of the correct hardware.
Converting Converting scenes prepared by versions 1.8 and earlier of Revit Live service is not supported. Resend your Revit model to Revit Live service.
Open new scene Very large scenes might show a grey screen for up to ten seconds while opening.
Change scene If your My Documents folder is on a network, you will get an invalid file path error when changing scene. Terminate all live_editor.exe, live_editor_backend.exe and live_win64_dev.exe processes, restart Live App, and then reopen that scene.
Saving settings Scene settings and styles are no longer stored between sessions or when publishing.
Publishing Non-Latin characters in published file names or in the path cause publishing to fail. Rename the published file using only Latin characters and publish to folder with only Latin.
Publishing Very large scenes might take up to an extra thirty seconds to finish publishing, after Live has finished.
Publishing Closing Live App before publishing is completed causes Windows File Explorer to pop up with the resulting folder loaded. Do not close Live App until publish is completed.
Visibility settings Only host view is supported for Revit links.

Feature Description

Converting Converting scenes prepared by previous versions of the Live service is not supported. Resend your Revit model to the Live service.
Opening a new scene Very large scenes may show a grey screen for up to ten seconds while opening.
Changing scene If your MyDocument folder is on a network, you will get an invalid file path error when changing the scene. Terminate all live_editor.exe, live_editor_backend.exe, and live_win64_dev.exe processes. Once they have been terminated, restart Live and reopen the scene.
Drag and drop You cannot import a .lvsc scene file by dropping it in Live. Open the scene from Revit or import it.
Saving settings Scene settings and styles are no longer stored between sessions or when publishing a presentation.
Terrain extension No option to extend the terrain.
BIM Info BIM Info sometimes displays the entire level instead of the element.
Publishing a presentation
  • Publishing a presentation with non-latin characters in the file name or in the path causes a publishing failure.
  • Very large scenes may take up to thirty seconds extra to finish publishing after Live has finished.
  • Closing Live before publishing is completed causes a publishing failure.
Section Box Section boxes in any linked file with a transform and instances is not supported.
Ceiling Ceilings with zero thickness may become transparent. To avoid this, give the ceiling a thickness value.
Door animation Doors disappear as you approach them in Tap&Go mode.
Upload progress Uploading a scene with linked files shows a different progress for each linked file being uploaded.
View selection
  • The active isometric view is also exported.
  • Newly created views are ignored when pressing on Save and Go. To prevent this, save before opening the Go Live add-in.
Scene header You can no longer rename the scene header.
Scene name in Project Manager Selected view name is no longer displayed in the scene name in Project Manager.
Known Issues and Workarounds for Live 1.8
Feature Description
Converting scenes Converting all saved scenes to this version when you do not have any saved scenes from previous versions causes Live to freeze on "One moment please..." If this happens, close and restart the application.
Laptop GPUs Laptops with Dual GPUs must force the "High-Performance" settings in the NVidia control panel for Live to take advantage of the correct hardware.
Publishing When publishing a presentation, you must navigate to and select the folder to which your presentation publishes every time. It is no longer remembered automatically.
Revit Live Service
  • The service can fail if any BIM360 paths are present in the Revit file, including linked file content, uploaded links, etc. If a failure occurs, remove all BIM360 paths and try again.
  • If you have linked models to your main Revit model, the upload may take some time to start. Don't close the Revit Live service window while your job is processing.
Stingray collaboration Shading environment and post-effect can no longer be added or modified in Stingray and sent back to Live.
