The 3D Cut and Sew UV Tool allows you to create or stitch seams on UV shells right in the viewport, instead of through the UV Editor. For more information on cutting and sewing edges, see Separate and attach UVs.
Note: When moving between the
Viewport and
UV Editor, the
3D Cut and Sew UV Tool automatically changes to the
Cut UV Tool.
Use these options to set what happens when you select
.Brush
- Steady Stroke
- Activating this automatically smooths out your mouse strokes. Useful if you have an unsteady hand or when working in tight spaces on the model.
- Distance
- Determines the width of jitter to smooth out when Steady Stroke is enabled.
- Symmetry
- Mirrors cut or sew operations across the chosen axis of symmetry.
Display
- Show checker map
- Displays a checker map texture on the selected UV shell.
- Show texture borders
- Bolds the chosen UV shell's texture borders. You can adjust the color of the borders using the color swatch.
- Show UV shell coloring
- Displays an overlay color on top of the UV shell that corresponds to the same colored shell in the UV Editor.
