- Import Blue Pencil frames
- Click the Import
Blue Pencil frames icon (
) on the Blue Pencil Toolbar to open the .zip archive file and add the frames to the current scene.
- Export Blue Pencil frames
- Click the Export
Blue Pencil frames icon (
) on the Blue Pencil Toolbar to save the selected frames as a .zip archive file.
- Import Grease Pencil frames into Blue Pencil
- You can import
Grease Pencil frames from earlier versions of
Maya Creative into
Blue Pencil with the
Import
Blue Pencil frames icon (
) on the Blue Pencil Toolbar. The Grease Pencil frames must be saved in a .zip archive. Grease Pencil drawings are imported in a new layer (see Manage Blue Pencil Layers).

Export Grease Pencil frames from an earlier version of Maya Creative:
- Open the Grease Pencil tools in a version of Maya earlier than 2023.
- In the
Grease Pencil tool (View > Camera Tools > Grease Pencil Tool), click
. A file browser opens
- In the
Export file browser window, enter a file name for your
Grease Pencil frame archive, and click
Export.
All the Grease Pencil frames from the active camera are saved as a .zip archive. For how to switch active camera layers, see Manage Blue Pencil layers.
