Before rendering your final image or sequence of images, you may want to set or adjust the following:
- Select a renderer.
- Select the file name, format, and resolution of your render output
- Adjust the sampling quality for your render. For example, you may want to use lower quality settings for preview rendering, but higher quality settings for the final rendered images. See
Adjust anti-aliasing and
Arnold for Maya User Guide: Sampling.
You can also export your settings as a preset, and import and reuse this preset to render with the same settings each time. See Export and import Render Settings as a preset.
- Select the layer that you want to render, if your scene is divided into separate layers. See Render setup in Maya.
- Add effects such as motion blur.
- Select the camera to render from, and/or set one or more cameras as renderable.
You can set these options in the Render Settings window. See Render Settings window.
