Split polygons with the Multi-Cut Tool

You can split multiple polygon faces on one mesh or across multiple meshes in one operation using the Multi-Cut Tool. Access the Multi-Cut Tool by:

  • The Tools section of the Modeling Toolkit window, and clicking .
  • The main menu bar, by selecting Mesh Tools > Multi-Cut.
  • The marking menu, by selecting Multi-Cut Tool (to open the marking menu, Shift + right-click when an object, edge, or face is selected).
You can use the Multi-Cut Tool to:
  • Add edges where you want more bend in the surface, like a character's elbow or knee.
  • Slice and delete a portion of a model. (This operation is like a boolean difference operation.)
  • Add surface divisions to better conform a mesh to a live reference surface.
  • Prepare a model for mirroring by slicing away a portion to create a clean edge along the mirror axis.
