    Scan data workflow

To work with scan data meshes in Mudbox

    1. Import your reality capture mesh.
      • Import a model
      • Troubleshoot mesh errors
    2. Repair any issues with the mesh.
      • Patch holes in a mesh
      • Smooth selected regions of a mesh
    3. Enhance and refine the mesh with sculpting and painting.
    4. Extract a clean base mesh using your preferred remeshing techniques.
      • Retopologize a mesh
      • Create a mesh from curves
    5. Extract texture maps using the scan data mesh as the source, and your new clean mesh as the target.
      • Extract a normal or displacement map
      • Texture extraction overview
    6. Send to Maya for rendering.
      • Send files to Maya, 3dsMax, and Softimage
      • Export a Mudbox model using FBX
