Grill with square holes (for cross-sectional shape (3D))

This dialog is used to describe a cross-sectional shape (3D) consisting of a repeating pattern of square holes. Four inputs are needed:

  • Hole type
  • Distance between holes
  • Width of square holes
  • Shape adjustment factor for imperfect square holes

Hole type specifies whether the hole is a through hole or a blind hole. For blind holes, the depth of the hole must be specified.

Distance between holes is the distance (gap) between two adjacent holes.

Width of square holes is the width of each square hole.

Shape adjustment factor for imperfect square holes is a factor to handle imperfect square holes (which are not perfectly square). If the hole shape is somewhat close to square but not perfectly square, this factor (whose value is generally greater than 1) can be used. This factor can be determined heuristically for each case.
