Multiple dispensing paths for underfill encapsulation
Simulate multiple dispensing paths, with dynamic dispensing for underfill encapsulation.
In prior releases, dynamic dispensing for underfill encapsulation supported only one path. With this release you can now simulate multiple dispensing paths.
Dynamic dispensing is supported for the following mesh types:
3D
Select Underfill Encapsulation as the molding process, and Flow as the analysis sequence. Determine which end of the dispensing path is the start, and assign a start controller to an injection node at the start end. Assign an end controller to an injection node on the other end.
For multiple dispensing paths, each dispensing path needs a start controller (S1, and S2 above) and an end controller (E1 and E2 above). Ensure that you leave at least 1 layer of nodes free from injection cones, between one dispensing path and the next.
For each start controller, enter the following dispensing data:
Dispensing volume per pass, entered either as a percentage of the part volume, or as an absolute volume
Start time and end time for each pass. Create as many passes as you want.
Pass volume multiplier. Each pass can have a different dispensing volume.
Each pass can have a different dispensing volume. Set a multiplier to determine the actual dispensing volume for each pass from the Dispensing volume for each pass value you entered. For example, if you set the multiplier to 1, then 100% of the dispensing volume is used in that pass. If you set the multiplier to 0.8, then only 80% of the dispensing volume is used for that pass.
The part shown above, has two dispensing paths. Path 1 has two dispensing passes, and path 2 has 1 dispensing pass. The fill time result for this part is shown below.
