Pressure, Channel (3D) result
The Pressure, Channel (3D) result is generated from a Cool (FEM) analysis to show the distribution of pressure along a conformal cooling circuit, averaged over the cycle.
Using this result
The pressure inside the conformal cooling circuits should remain evenly distributed from the inlet circuit pressure to the outlet circuit pressure. A large increase in cooling channel cross-sectional area will cause pressure drops in the cooling circuits. A thin section will also cause a pressure drop.
The information obtained from this result is also available in the analysis log.
Note: This result does not take into account the pressure loss due to features such as external cooling lines, and fittings.
Things to look for
When viewing the Pressure, Channel (3D) result, check the following:
- The coolant pressure in each circuit is less than the coolant pump capacity.
- The coolant pressure throughout the circuit is as even as possible.
- Large pressure drops (inlet−outlet pressure).
