About Custom Sheet Scale
2D Takeoff allows you to specify a sheet scale for files that may not already contain a scale, such as DWFs exported from PDF or image files. To specify the scale, you measure lines in a drawing, and then set the scale based on an original model scale, or a custom scale that you can specify. This can help calibrate your 2D takeoff to resolve scale distortions, if they are present in your files.
When setting a scale, you should measure lines that you know the length of (from an associated model or sheet). You then manually enter the known length of the lines, and the average scale is calculated for your 2D sheet from these measurements.
Customize Sheet Scale
Open the 2D sheet you want to use. If your project contains several sheets or models, use the Sheet Browser to select a 2D sheet.
Click View tab > Workspace panel > Windows drop down > Set Scale by Measure > New Measure.
On the 2D sheet, trace a line of geometry. Choose a line that you know the length of.
In the Enter Value dialog, type the known length and measurement unit, then click OK.
The average scale appears in the Set Scale by Measurement window. If necessary, repeat to trace several lines for a more accurate scale.
Press Delete or right-click a row > Delete to delete a scale record.
Delete a Sheet Scale Record
In the Set Scale by Measurement window, select a row and press Delete.
Tip: You can also right-click a row and click Delete. The selected scale record is deleted.
