Work with Grids and Levels

Toggle Grids and Levels

  1. Click View tab > Grids & Levels panel > Show Grid .

Identify a Grid Point

  1. Hover the cursor over a grid intersection on your model. The name and/or reference of the levels will be displayed.

Select the Grid Colors

  1. Click View tab > Grids & Levels panel > Grids Dialog Launcher .

  2. Select the colors used for drawing the gridlines. You can choose colors for the following level options:

    • Level Above - the color used for drawing the gridlines on the level directly above the camera position.
    • Level Below - the color used for drawing the gridlines on the level directly below the camera position
    • Other Levels - the color used for drawing the gridlines at other levels.
    Note: The levels that are displayed depends upon the grid mode you have selected, see Grids Modes.
  3. Click OK.

Change the Text Size on Grid Labels

  1. Click View tab > Grids & Levels panel > Grids tool launcher .
  2. Type the Label Font Size (in points) to be used for text on grid labels.
  3. Click OK.

Toggle X-Ray Mode

  1. Click View tab > Grids & Levels panel > Grids tool launcher .

  2. Click the X-Ray Mode check box to toggle X-ray mode on and off.

    Note: If X-ray mode is switched off then transparent gridlines hidden by objects will not be displayed.
  3. Click OK.

Sectioning above or below level

To section above and/or below a level:

  1. Click View tab > Grids & Levels panel > Select a level > Select or .
  2. Both and can be toggled to section the current level.
Note: To use this feature, the mode must be set to Fixed then select an Active Grid and Display Level. Finally, click Above and/or Below to section to the selected level.
