When you create a Simple Measures alignment, PowerInspect adds the geometric items required to create the alignment to the currently open group. It also adds a Geometric PLP Alignment item to the Definition level of the inspection sequence.
To display the details of a Simple Measures alignment, double click its entry in the inspection sequence. The Geometric PLP Alignment dialog displays the items used to create the alignments transformation matrix. The dialog contains the following areas:
- Name — Specifies the name of the alignment. This name is also included in the names of the items used to create the alignment.
- Plane — Specifies the item that determines the Z axis of the alignment.
- Line — Specifies the item that determines the X axis of the alignment. If you selected:
- Plane, Line, Perpendicular Line PLP Alignment, it contains the first line you measured.
- Plane, Line, Circle PLP Alignment, it contains the line you measured.
- Plane, Circle, Circle PLP Alignment, it contains the line drawn between the centres of the circles.
The direction of the axis is determined by the order in which you probed the points that make up the line.
- Point — Specifies the item that determines the Y axis of the alignment and controls the origin of the alignment. If you selected:
- Plane, Line, Perpendicular Line PLP Alignment, it contains the point constructed from the intersection of the two lines.
- Plane, Line, Circle PLP Alignment, it contains the circle you measured.
- Plane, Circle, Circle PLP Alignment, it contains the first circle you measured.
If you specified an offset in the Simple Measures Alignment Settings dialog, it is displayed in the X, Y, Z boxes of the Point area. This represents the offset of the geometric items' intersection point from the alignment origin.
Click OK to close the dialog.
