To create a Plane, Line, Perpendicular Line PLP Alignment

Use the Plane, Line, Perpendicular Line option to create a Geometric PLP Alignment item and the items required to calculate the alignment's transformation matrix. The plane specifies the Z axis; the line specifies the X axis; and the perpendicular, line specifies the position of the Y axis.

Note: This option is available only when creating an inspection for use on CNC or Manual machines.

To create the alignment:

  1. In the inspection sequence, open a Geometric group or Simple Measures group.
  2. Click Simple Measures tab > PLP Alignments panel > Plane, Line, Perpendicular Line.

A Probed Plane item, a Probed Line item, a Probed Perpendicular Line item, and a Point: Intersection Two Lines item are added to the group; a Geometric PLP Alignment item is added to the Definition level of the inspection sequence.
