Editing sub-items

It is possible to perform edits, such as move, rotate, scale and offset, on the sub-items of certain objects. The Edit tab > Mode panel enables you to switch between editing the main object and the sub-item.

Sub-items can be:

  • laterals and longitudinals on surfaces.
  • points on curves (including composite curves and surface curves).

To edit sub-items:

  1. Select the item in the graphics window.
  2. Click Edit tab > Mode panel > Item/Sub-Item > Sub-Item to switch to Sub-Item editing mode.
  3. Use the options on the Edit tab to edit the sub-items. The following options are available:
  4. To return to editing the main item, click Edit tab > Mode panel > Item/Sub-Item > Item.

The editing options available for sub-items work in the same way as for main items except:

  • The Keep Original and Copies options are not available.
  • If you move the rotate direction to a spine point, it will take the spine direction (laterals and longitudinals only).
  • Offset does not allow continuous or discontinuous options.
  • Scale does not allow scale to volume.
