Use the Line page of the Options dialog to control the default settings used to create lines.
- Click File > Options > Application Options > Object > Lines.
- Specify the default settings for creating lines using the following options:
Lines
- Angular gridding — Select this option to use angular gridding when creating a continuous or non-continuous line. Angular gridding displays incremented angle values between the horizontal and the rubber band line displayed to the cursor, after the first point is input.
- Length gridding — Select this option to use gridded values for the length when creating continuous lines, non-continuous lines, or rectangles.
- Trim tangent items — Select this option to trim an object to the tangency point when you create a line tangent to an object.
- Length caption position — Select where you want the line length measurement to be displayed. Length measurements are displayed when you create a line or select an existing line. Select from:
- Off — Disables the length measurement display.
- End of line — Displays the length measurement at the end of the line.
- Middle of line — Displays the length measurement in the middle of the line.
Chamfers
- Default Creation Mode — Select the default mode for creating chamfers from:
- Angle-Distance
- Angle-Length
- Distance along
When you create a chamfer, this type of chamfer is automatically created.
- Default length/distance — Enter a value to specify the length or distance used by the definition of the chamfer.
- Default angle — Enter a value to specify the default angle of the chamfer with the first line, when the Default Creation Mode is Angle-Length or Angle-Distance.
