ReCap Viewer Tools
The ReCap User Interface for the ReCap Viewer provides you with tools for measuring, note taking, data extraction, and navigating your ReCap model.
View
When the ReCap Viewer opens, you must first decide on the view that is required for your session. The two available views are selected by the view tool at the bottom of the interface.
Switch to Real View. (Point Cloud view only) Changes view to Real View.
Switch to Point Cloud View. (Real View only) Changes view to Point Cloud View.
Tools
The following tools are available across the bottom of the viewer. Please note that some are view specific.
Orbit Mode. The Orbit Mode tool allows you to orbit your view around the model.
Project Panel The Project Panel tool shows and hides the project browser.
Mirrorball. The Mirrorball tool shows and hides the project mirrorballs.
Visualization Settings. (Point Cloud view only) The Visualization Settings tool opens a panel with which you can change the following:
- Visualization Mode. Selects how you view the cloud data. Choose from Normal Mapping, Intensity Color, Elevation Color, Shading, or RGB color.
- Eye Dome Lighting. Enables highlights to accentuate the edges of shapes.
- Lighting Strength. Adjusts the strength of the eye dome lighting to increase/decrease crispness of the edges.
- Dynamic Point Scaling. Enables point attenuation which adjusts the cloud point size determined by geometric error and camera space depth.
- Display Point Size. Adjusts the point cloud size of the point attenuation.
Measure. (Point Cloud view only) The Measure tool displays several project measurement tools. The measurement tools give an approximate distance with different thresholds of precision.
Distance. Displays the linear distance between two selected points and their distance from one another along the X, Y, and Z axes.
Angle. Displays the angle in degrees of three selected points.
Calibrate. Calibrates the measurement tools by manually adding a distance between two selected points. This information is saved and adjusts other measurement accordingly.
Delete Measurement. Deletes a selected measurement.
Measurement Settings. Displays the current unit of measurement for the project and allows for various levels of precision. To modify the units of measurement, open the project in ReCap Pro, go to project setting, change the unit, save the file, and Publish > Update.
. Closes the measurement tools array. Measurements persist and will display when the Measure tool is again clicked.
Annotation. The Annotation tool displays several annotation tools to help document your project.
Note. The Note tool creates new notes in your model. A dialog will be shown where you can edit the title, description, and add an attachment.
Distance. Creates an annotation for the distance between two points.
X-Axis. Creates an annotation for the distance between two points snapped along the X-Axis.
Y-Axis. Creates an annotation for the distance between two points snapped along the Y-Axis.
Z-Axis. Creates an annotation for the distance between two points snapped along the Z-Axis.
Freeform. The Freeform tool creates a freeform markup annotation in your model. Sketch at least 2 segments of a line and press Enter. A dialog will be shown where you can edit the title, description, and add an attachment.
Rectangle. The Rectangle tool creates a rectangular markup annotation in your model. Sketch the rectangle and press Enter. A dialog will be shown where you can edit the title, description, and add an attachment.
. Closes the annotation tools array.
Feature Extraction. (Point Cloud view only). The Feature Extraction tool enables tools and a section view with which you can trace and extract features from cloud data.
Scan Group. The Scan Group tool enables a scan group editing mode for assigning scans to existing groups from the canvas. Learn more.
View State. (Real View only) The View State tool creates a view state from the current view.
Project Browser
Minimap. Use the minimap to navigate through a specific scan. If there is more than one elevation slice, you can use the button on the top left to switch the elevation
Search. Search for scan locations, annotations, and view states using the search bar.
Scans. This panel lists all project scan locations. Click on any scan to navigate to a scan location. Highlight, hide, isolate, and group scans in your project. Learn more.
Annotations. This panel lists all project annotations such as notes, measurements, and markups. Click on an annotation to rotate the camera to view the annotation.
View States. This panel lists project view states. Only View States created in RealView are listed here. Click on any View State to activate the scan location and orient the camera.
Features. This browser lists all of the feature extractions created in the project and their control point labels. Click on any feature extraction in the list to navigate, view, and/or edit the extraction.
