Opening Mesh in the Cloud

When an aerial image project completes processing, the generated mesh is accessed by clicking "Open mesh in the cloud" located in the project thumbnail. This action directly opens the mesh from Photo to 3D cloud services within Autodesk Construction Cloud or Autodesk Drive.

The default web browser launches, displaying the NWC mesh file, produced by the Aerial Photo to 3D cloud service, or the FBX mesh file, produced by the Object Photo to 3D cloud service.

Important Notes

• For older Photo to 3D projects, clicking "Open mesh in the cloud" occasionally initiates a download of the output file as a zip archive instead of directly opening the mesh file.
• Photo to 3D projects processed in ReCap Pro 2026 or later are not visible in the Cloud Dashboard of earlier ReCap Photo versions.
