RC walls - loads

The Walls - loads layout allows defining the loads that will be applied to a designed wall. Definition of loads for which a structure is calculated depends on a selected code and calculation methods defined in it.

The following load groups may be defined for walls.

  • Continuous
  • Planar

The above load types are defined analogously as in the case of deep-beams. In the wall module, the edit field Number of stories above displays which allows taking account of loads that result from stories located above a designed story. If there are identical loads on each story above the designed wall it is enough to define a load applied directly to the considered wall and specify a number of stories above that are subjected to the identical load. It is assumed that as a result of load distribution, loads coming from higher stories are applied as uniformly distributed on the top edge of the wall (regardless of the shape of the load for which the option has been used).

  • Reduced

Reduced loads are applied at the center of gravity of the section of the base of a considered story.

Note: Reduced loads are not taken into account during calculations of lintels of openings.

Use the Apply, Add, Delete, or arrow buttons to change a load case on the active tab.

In the bottom right part of the dialog the user may choose a method of presenting defined loads.

The lists allow selection of any nature and type of load. The graphical viewer will show only selected natures/types of loads. After activating the Only selected option located on the right side, only the loads selected in the load table will be presented.
