Member definition - service (displacements)

The option is used to determine additional code parameters defining values of displacements (limit displacements). It is activated by pressing the Service button located in the Member definition - parameters dialog box.

It is possible to define limit displacements (member deflections in the directions X and Y, node displacements in the directions X and Y) and, additionally, to decide - while determining the limit deflections of a member - whether the member is a cantilever. Options in the lower part of the dialog box allow defining parameters of a member with camber:

  • if the Control of displacements with camber considered option is switched on, then a value of the camber will be considered during verification / design of members
  • the camber value may be evaluated in two ways: by typing the camber value in the User-defined camber field, or by assuming the value calculated by the program on the basis of dead loads (the Automatic camber option).
