In the Definition - Elastic Foundation dialog, you can define a value of the KZ coefficient (elastic support coefficient):
- by entering the coefficient value in the Kz field.
- by clicking Elastic foundation coefficient, which opens the Building soils - calculations of K coefficien dialog. That dialog acts as a calculator for computing a value of the elastic foundation coefficient K for a layered soil.

Additionally, you can define the uplift of a plate/shell from the foundation for each direction. The option is available only when the foundation elasticity coefficient is defined. There are 3 uplift possibilities:
- None - there will be no uplift.
- "+" - uplift will take place in the direction compatible with the axis direction, such as UX+.
- "-" - uplift will take place in the direction opposite to the axis direction, such as UZ-.
Under Transversal elasticity, you can specify values of transversal elasticity coefficients Kx and Ky defined with respect to the assumed principal orthotropic coordinate system. Click Direction X to open the Orthotropy Direction dialog, where you can choose the main orthotropy direction.
