Shared views allows you to share you model with anyone, even if they do not have Revit. Technology Preview: Load Autodesk Family Use a custom browser to find and load Autodesk content from the cloud into your model. Search the default content libraries across multiple languages to find just the right family. Reset Shared Coordinates Reposition models in your projects more easily. Remove the shared coordinate relationship between model files with one click and reestablish shared coordinates across the project when necessary. Export STL Export your models from Revit to an STL file without an add-on. Use the STL file for 3D printing your models. Quickly Identify the Rebar Host You can now more easily identify the host for one or more selected rebar sets, area or path reinforcement. Enhanced FormIt Converter Visual and material fidelity of models converted from FormIt and opened in Revit have been enhanced. P&ID Modeler supports Europe data centers P&ID Modeler for Revit supports Europe data centers. Revit can now connect to Plant 3D Collaboration projects on Europe data centers. New in Generative Design Learn about recent enhancements to Generative Design in Revit. Create an Alignment from InfraWorks Data Civil Structures can be exported to Revit from a future version of InfraWorks using the Export Civil Structures workflow. Improved CAD Import Improvements make importing SAT and Rhino files more reliable than in previous releases. SketchUp 2020 Support Added support for the import of 2020 format SketchUp files. Additional Unit Types To better support information workflows, many new unit types are available for use in parameters. User Interface Improvements Revit 2021.1 includes a number of user interface improvements to make working easier. Acquire Shared Coordinates Notification When you acquire shared coordinates from a linked file, you now receive a confirmation message. Dynamo: 90 New Nodes Ninety new Dynamo nodes are available in several categories, allowing you to easily manipulate Revit element functions. Set Points for Systems Analysis New parameters for set points for heating, cooling, humidification, and dehumidification have been added to the building types and space types for use with Systems Analysis. 2021 Release Highlights Generative Design Leverage computing power to quickly generate and explore alternatives to a design problem based on your goals and constraints. Enhanced Realistic Views This feature provides a superior replacement for realistic views. Slanted Walls Create slanted walls and slanted curtain walls using the standard Wall tool. Slanted walls can host elements like doors, windows, electrical features, wall sweeps, and more. Link PDF Files or Images Link a 2D PDF file or a raster image into a 2D view for reference without increasing the size of the model or affecting performance. Then remove the file when it's no longer needed. Electrical Circuit Naming Scheme A flexible method for defining circuit naming schemes helps support conventions in different regions of the world. Cloud Models on Europe Data Centers Cloud models can now be hosted on Europe data centers. Enable/Disable View Filters Enable and disable view filters in the Visibility/Graphics dialog. View filter effects are turned on and off instead of adding and removing filters for the view. New Standard 3D Rebar Shapes You can define 3D rebar shapes by rotating the hooks at the ends of the bars, model rebar chairs (sanders) or other 3D bars, and extract full fabrication data in the schedules. More features Improved Revit Home Updates to Revit Home provide a consistent experience for Autodesk Docs account and project navigation between Autodesk products, such as Revit and Civil 3D. Stiffener Type For detailed steel modeling, the Revit steel connections list now includes stiffeners. This new family type consists of one or two steel plates that reinforce a beam or column section, welded to the input beam or column. Customized Workspace Create a user profile that allows Revit to provide a workspace recommendation that is tailored to your work discipline and job role. Display Contrasting Rows in a Schedule To make a large schedule easier to read, set the Stripe Rows feature to display rows in contrasting colors. P&ID Modeler for BIM 360 Docs When you collaborate with others using Plant 3D, P&ID Modeler for Revit now references P&ID drawings stored in Autodesk Docs. Simplified Shared Coordinates To more easily work with linked models, you can display coordinates of linked models in the host model. These coordinates include the survey point, project base point, and internal origin. Switchboard Circuit Quantity Parameter names for circuit quantity on switchboards and panelboards have been improved. Rotate Text in Tags, Section Heads The family parameter Rotate with Component has been added to more tag categories. In addition, text rotation in section heads is improved. Performance Improvements Revit 2021 includes several performance improvements. Integrated Steel Connections Nodes The steel connections nodes dedicated to placing steel connections are provided with the Revit installation, as part of Dynamo for Revit. Integrated Precast Automation The former structural precast extension is now integrated into Revit with a dedicated Precast tab on the ribbon. Easier Hook Length Adjustments Easily specify the hook lengths for each rebar in the project, without the need to duplicate the hook type and change the length for that type. Worksharing and MEP Elements Worksharing with MEP Elements has been improved to provide a more consistent experience and enable better collaboration among stakeholders. Single Phase Line-to-Neutral Panelboard To better support distribution systems commonly found outside the US, Revit supports single phase two-wire line-to-neutral panelboards. Select Phase for Switchboard Circuits Use the Switch Phases tool to assign a phase to a circuit in a switchboard panel. Panel Schedules Display in the Project Browser The Sheets section of the Project Browser lists the panel schedules that appear on each sheet. New Parameters for Circuits The Frame parameter is now available for spare circuits, and it displays in panel schedules. Integrated Structural Analysis Storage and Exploration Formerly an add-on, Integrated Structural Analysis Storage and Exploration is now integrated into Revit, available on the Analyze tab of the ribbon. Design Options Enhancements In the Design Options dialog, option sets and design options are automatically sorted in alphanumeric order. Cuts Geometry Parameter for Voids Voids used in families have a new parameter: Cuts Geometry. Rebar and Fabric Sheets This release includes updates for rebar end treatments, couplers connecting to arc-shaped rebar, and 3D solid fabric sheet visualisation. Creating and Editing Steel Parts You can now create steel elements such as plates, bolt patterns and contour cuts directly in elevation and section views and edit them in any type of view. New in the Advance Steel 2025 Release Extension for Revit Learn about enhancements and new features in the Advance Steel 2025 Release Extension for Revit. Dynamo: 10 New Nodes Ten new Dynamo nodes are available under the Element category, allowing you to easily manipulate Revit element functions. Bridge Categories New categories to better support bridge design in Revit. This feature supports the Civil Structures Workflow with Autodesk InfraWorks and Revit. Unit Type for US Survey Feet To better support infrastructure design, Revit supports decimal US survey feet as a length unit.
