Troubleshooting with Vault Client Diagnostic Log Files

Learn where to collect diagnostic information for the Vault Client.

For the purposes of this section, we refer to the %temp% folder. This is the temp folder location defined for the Windows user account that is logged in on the computer.

By default, the location of the folder is: C:\Users\ACCOUNTNAME\AppData\Local\Temp.

In this example, ACCOUNTNAME is the name of your user account in Windows.

Vault client diagnostic log files

We recommend creating a file and folder to collect diagnostic data for Vault Clients:

  1. Make sure that all Autodesk Vault clients are closed (including any Vault Add-ins).

  2. Open Windows File Explorer.

  3. In the Address bar, type %TEMP% and press the Enter key.

  4. Create a .txt file with the name "ADSKVaultDiagnostics" (the full file name would be ADSKVaultDiagnostics.txt).

  5. Create a subfolder called ADSKVault (%TEMP%\ADSKVault).

  6. Start the Vault Client software.

  7. Diagnostic files will be placed in this location.

Important:
  • Once the diagnostic information has been collected, copy it to another folder and delete the ADSKVaultDiagnostics.txt file. Leaving the file in that location can cause performance issues.
