Create a section view
Learn how to create a section view on a sheet in the Drawing workspace in Fusion.
Select Create > Section View
.
Select a base view, projected view, or section view on the current sheet as the parent view.
The Drawing View dialog displays.
Click to place the start point of the section line.
A preview of the section line and identifier displays in the canvas.
Optional: Click to place additional points to define bends in the section line.
Click to place the end point of the section line, then press
Enter
.A preview of the section view displays at the cursor.
Click to place the section view on the sheet.
Tip: Press theShift
key to toggle the alignment constraint off or on.In the Drawing View dialog, adjust the Appearance settings:
- Style: Select a display style.
- From Parent
- Visible Edges
- Visible and Hidden Edges
- Shaded
- Shaded with Hidden Edges
- Scale: Select a scale.
- Name: Enter an identifier, if needed.
- Style: Select a display style.
Adjust the Edge Visibility settings:
- Tangent Edges: Select a display style for tangent edges.
- Full Length
- Shortened
- Off
- Interference Edges: Check to display interference edges.
- Thread Edges: Check to display threaded edges.
- Tangent Edges: Select a display style for tangent edges.
Adjust the Section Depth settings:
- Depth: Select a section depth option.
- Full: Display all geometry.
- Slice: Only display geometry cut through by the section line.
- Distance: Display geometry up to a specified distance beyond the section line.
- Distance: Specify distance beyond section line.
- Set Distance: Click to reset distance.
- Depth: Select a section depth option.
In the Objects to Cut section, uncheck any components you don't want to display in the section view.
Select OK.
The section view displays on the current sheet.
