Tutorials: Quasi-static Event Simulation

This tutorial uses a Quasi-static Event Simulation analysis to examine the stresses experienced by a quarter symmetry model of a copper billet, subject to a ramp load. We are not concerned about the stresses in the stationary base plate, so we'll define it as rigid to further improve the solution time.

In this tutorial you

  • Create a new event simulation study and define its parameters
  • Define a rigid body and change the model materials
  • Apply constraints to Bottom Plate, the Billet, and the Top Plate
  • Apply a prescribed translation constraint to define to distance the Top Plate moves, and suppress self-contact to reduce the analysis time
  • Run the analysis and review the results.

Prerequisites

  • To complete this tutorial, your Autodesk account needs sufficient tokens to run the analysis, or an active subscription to the Fusion Simulation Extension.
