Applies force or torque on the selected objects.
Access: | On the ribbon, Dynamic Simulation tab Load panel Force or Dynamic Simulation tab Load panel Torque |
Location |
Specifies the vertex for force or torque location. Selectable geometry includes vertex, circular edge, arc edge, sketch point, sketch circle, sketch arc, line endpoint, work point, and so on. Selecting edges yields a vertex. |
Direction | Specifies the load direction based on a face or edge selection. The Direction is normal for face selections and parallel for edge selections. The direction is from the selected location point. |
Flips the direction vector . |
|
Magnitude |
Sets the Magnitude of the force or torque. Click to set Magnitude to either a Constant Value or a value that varies over time. Constant Value is the default. Select Input Grapher to show the Input Grapher icon in this box. Click to open the Input Grapher dialog box where you can define the values at various time steps. |
Fixes the direction of the force or torque in the assembly’s absolute coordinate system. |
|
Associates the direction of the force or toque with the component containing the force or torque. |

Displays additional parameters. |
Use Vector Component |
Disables the Magnitude and Direction parameters and suppresses any values set for those parameters. Click Use Vector Component to enable the Fx, Fy, and Fz boxes or Tx, Ty, and Tz boxes. Click at the right side of the following boxes sets the vector value to either a Constant Value or a value that varies over time. |
|
Sets the value of the force or torque vector along the X axis of the blue coordinate system displayed at the location of the force or torque. |
|
Sets the value of the force or torque vector along the Y axis of the blue coordinate system displayed at the location of the force or torque. |
|
Sets the value of the force or torque vector along the Z axis of the blue coordinate system displayed at the location of the force or torque. |
Display |
Displays the force or torque vectors in the graphics window. Clicking Display enables the Scale and Color parameters. Display, Scale, and Color affect only the appearance of the vectors in the graphics window. |
Scale |
Sets the scale of the force or torque vectors. Use this option to make all of the vector visible. This value defaults to 0.01. |
Color |
Opens the Microsoft Color dialog box so that you can select a color for the force or torque vectors. |
