Family Table dialog box

Use the Family Table dialog box to edit the data for members of a part family. One row in the family table represents each family member, and each column represents one family property.

Access:

On the Content Center Editor dialog box, right-click a part family, and select Family Table from the menu.

Note: Only the read/write families can be edited.

Toolbar options:

Edit via Spreadsheet

Edits the family table data in Microsoft Excel.

Sort

Opens the Sort dialog box.

Tip: To sort on a selected column, click the column header in the Family dialog box.

Add a Row

Adds a new row at the position next to the selected row.

Delete a Row

Deletes the selected row.

Add Column

Adds a column at the position next to the selected column. You define properties for the new column in the Column Properties dialog box.

Delete Column

Deletes the selected column.

Note: A column cannot be deleted if it is part of another column expression, is mapped to a category parameter, or is a Key Column.

Column Properties

Opens the Column Properties dialog box.

File Naming

Opens the File Naming Options dialog box.

Key Columns

Opens the Key Columns Options dialog box.

Material Guide

Opens the Material Guide. Adds materials to the selected family members.

Context menu options

Columns context menu:

Hide

Hides the selected columns.

Unhide

Displays the column which was hidden as the last.

Unhide All

Displays all hidden columns.

Add Column

Adds a column at the position next to the selected column. You define properties for the new column in the Column Properties dialog box.

Delete

Deletes the selected column.

Note: A column cannot be deleted if it is part of another column expression, is mapped to a category parameter, or is a Key Column.

Column Properties

Opens the Column Properties dialog box.

Rows context menu:

Add to Favorites

Adds the selected family member in the Favorites list.

Copy

Copies the selected rows to the clipboard.

Tip: Paste the row content into newly added rows, over existing rows, or into Microsoft Excel.

Paste

Pastes the information from the clipboard into the selected rows. If no rows are selected, the paste begins at the row the context menu was invoked from.

Add Row

Adds a new blank row at the position next to the selected row.

Insert Copied Rows

Inserts the copied row or rows in the family table. Available only if copies of one or more rows are in the clipboard, and one row in the table is selected.

Delete Row

Deletes the selected row.

Suppress

Suppresses the selected rows. The corresponding part or feature family members is not displayed in the Content Center view.

Unsuppress

Unsuppresses the selected rows.

Unsuppress All

Unsuppresses all suppressed rows.

Material Guide

Opens the Material Guide. Adds materials to the selected family members.
